Reflection
A Personal Point of View Reflection
It's been a challenge to think from more of a business point of view instead of an educational and instructional perspective. Up until now, almost all my use of technology has been related to online schooling and curriculum design. This is not to say that pedagogy is absent from business since we are always learning in some capacity and even businesses need trainers to help upgrade the skills of willing employees. Most, if not all teachers, pursue education because of our love for learning, teaching and children, not to become wealthy.
As a Venture Capitalist, one challenge would be to keep up with the emerging market of wearable AI and especially trying to receive hands-on observation of AI developments in real time such as the Metaverse and AI projects that Elon Musk is currently working on. It is rather intimidating to be a Venture Capitalist in an industry that is fuelled by powerful business folk. Once AI becomes more prevalent and functional, one aspect of artificial intelligence that I anticipate the need to reconcile and come to terms with, is some of the ethical issues surrounding its use.
On another note, I had great fun and trepidation putting together the elevator pitch. It was challenging to find free applications to assemble music, voice and video tracks. It actually brought me back to my grade school days when we worked on school wide projects that involved multimedia. I remember one large project which reported about bridges in the Lower Mainland and our team of classmates narrated the story. To record ourselves, we used a hand-cranked audio-film machine where the reels of film was exposed. If we made a mistake, we had re-record and rewind the tape to an appropriate spot. It looked something like the machine picture below:

Reflective Observations
This idea is fuelled by the vision of the future where peripherals will no longer be needed to access a virtual world. In this sense, technological devices will be obsolete and therefore, much cheaper! Instead, artificial intelligence and extended reality will replace the World Wide Web and "Cloud" storage will become much more affordable and accessible/free as we go about our daily basis and daily spaces. What I mean by this is, just as WIFI is free at many of the shops and spaces we visit daily, so will Cloud storage. I also want to use wearable technology so we can prevent heinous crimes that are fuelled by racist attitudes and mental illnesses we cannot control.
For now, it's sometimes difficult to exist in an "in between place" where wearable technology is not equitable in that it is not provided to everyone of all walks of life and socioeconomic status. Just as "free WIFI" eventually became freely accessible at businesses, perhaps Cloud storage will be, too. Smart technology is still expensive and peripheral devices such as Fitbits and Apple Watches dominant the fitness tracking industry which make it difficult to access in low income communities or among individuals where skills in technology are limited. I hope that in the future, AI will create an even playing field and become a major tool to bring social justice to this world.
